Hackathon at Villa Revedin Bolasco, Castelfranco Veneto’s Pilot site
April 2024
On 15-17th April, the Villa Revedin Bolasco, Castelfranco Veneto’s Pilot site, hosted the Hackathon “Ecosense, Arduino in the Park”. This educational activity was aimed at high school students and young university students with an interest in environmental protection and programming.
Students from the Eugenio Barsanti Technical Technological Institute successfully designed, programmed, and installed two fully functional IoT environmental stations using Arduino technology.
These stations transmit geo-located data on PM10 particulate matter, pollutants, and microclimate via LoRa and LoRaWAN to a Data Center. Now, researchers have access to this data for studies on urban well-being and green spaces.
This initiative, promoted by several departments of project partner UNIPD, in collaboration with CIRGEO and FabLab Castelfranco Veneto, showcases the fruitful collaboration between academia and high school innovators!
