On the evaluation of quality of life in Chania Crete, Greece
January, 2025
The Technical University of Crete, VARCITIES’ coordinator, published in January 2024 an article that examines the factors influencing quality of life (QoL) and overall health and well-being (H&WB) among Chania City residents, using an extended WHOQOL-BREF survey to assess the impact of green spaces, noise pollution, and demographic variables on seven key domains, with implications for urban planning and social equity. The findings reveal significant variations in QoL scores across demographic groups, underscoring the need to integrate QoL assessments into urban planning policies to improve environmental quality, public health, and community well-being.
