Autum stroll in our Skellefteå Pilot site
November 2024
On a crisp autumn afternoon, our pilot team in Skellefteå took a stroll across the pilot site, the Klockarberget Park, where all five Visionary Solutions are fully operational!
With improved waterways in the park, the creeks flow through newly restored channels, with sensors measured water quality and flow, working silently to ensure a healthier ecosystem. The lush wetland bed now supports biodiversity; this space, partially flooded with stormwater, is now home to indigenous plant species. An oversized bee hotel, part playground, part educational tool, provided a fun, interactive way to engage with nature. Signs along the park now also detail how the area supports local flora and fauna, a reminder of the balance between urban development and nature.
In the last sunny days of the year, the Klockarberget Park saw schoolchildren gather in the open-air classroom for educational activities raising awareness on climate change, biodiversity, and sustainable urban development.
With winter approaching, the area will soon be covered by snow, but the smart lighting fixtures nestled among the trees will provide a welcoming atmosphere while conserving energy, even during the darker days of the year.
It’s clear that this space had become more than just a park—it now a hub of community connection and environmental awareness!
