Castelfranco Veneto Hosts the 44th Giorgione Walk

September 2024

On September 15, 2024, the 44th edition of the Giorgione Walk took place in Castelfranco Veneto, drawing participants from across the territory for a day of exercise, community, and cultural and nature appreciation. The route for this year’s Giorgione Walk led walkers through some of the most scenic and historic sites in the area, including the enchanting garden of Villa Revedin Bolasco, our pilot site in Castelfranco Veneto!

The initiative was organized by the a local cultural association, Pro Loco Castelfranco Veneto Aps, with the support of our Pilot City the Municipality of Castelfranco Veneto. The event promoted a healthy lifestyle and also provided a social gathering opportunity for the community.

After the walk, several participants took part in a special session where they shared their experiences and perceptions as they passed through the villa’s garden and its evocative green spaces. This interaction helped to promote the area as a place that enhances perceived well-being, illustrating the importance of natural environments in urban settings.

The event provided an opportunity to promote various local and international initiatives happening in Castelfranco Veneto, including VARCITIES. Our Pilot team was happy to engage with the community and offer insights in the different Visionary Solutions (VS) in operation or soon to be unveiled in the park!

The Municipality of Castelfranco Veneto extended an invitation to all participants and residents to attend the inauguration of the new multifunctional digital totem (VS6),  happening on September 28! The event will include a presentation of the future plans for the Barchessa degli Strepiti, which is set to become a hub for cultural and informational exchange, as well as the headquarters of the Local Landscape Observatory of the Castellana area (as part of VS4).

The Giorgione Walk continues to be a cherished tradition in the region, combining physical activity with cultural heritage, and fostering a deeper connection between the community and its historical landscape!
