At the Best City Awards 2023, the Municipality of Chania has received 4 awards for the implementation of innovative policies in four different categories amongs nominees from all over Greece!

At the ceremony which took place on January 16, 2023 at the “Miltiadis Evert” Amphitheater of Technopolis in Athens, the Municipality of Chania was distinguished in the following categories:

• E-ticket management for cultural & sporting events: Completed online information, booking and ticket payment for cultural activities of the KEPPEDIH-CAM (Chania culture)
• Digital services and online bill payment: Digitalization of the Municipal Enterprise for Water Supply and Sewerage in Chania.
• Virtual tours of museums, archaeological and historical sites: Use of augmented reality (VR) means of interactive observation, analysis and three-dimensional (3D) simulation in an exhibition of the Municipal Art Gallery of Chania.
• Digital local tourist guide & Mobile applications: A “Suitcase” for the visitors’ suitcases. The new free service of the Department of Tourism of the Municipality of Chania.

The Best City Awards is an annual event organised by Boussias Communications in collaboration with the Central Union of Greek Municipalities and the Region of Attica and are aimed at rewarding Innovation & Quality of life in the Greek cities.
