Inauguration day at our Skellefteå pilot!

Our Pilot City Skellefteå officially unveiled its Pilot site on May 30th, welcoming all to come and discover the different Visionary Solutions (VS) in operation at the Klockarberget Park!

During the day, schools were invited to experience VS4, the outdoor classroom, the learning materials and activities first hand. Around 100 pupils from different schools and pre-schools were in attendance! They engaged in different activities, led by our Pilot team, together with Exploratoriet Science Center. They tried their hand at an “insect bingo”, looking for different species in the park and making note of what they found.

The water sampling activity was also popular very popular! The young participants got wet and explored the water from the ponds (VS2) to see what biodiversity lives there!

Many children also took the chance to build their own insect hotels to place in the park. The day was especially popular with the nearby Lejonströmsskolan and their classes of adapted learning, for children with special needs.

Further along the day, in the afternoon, cultural activities for all were organised, with folk musician Jörgen Svedberg playing the traditional instrument nyckelharpa and the fire pits used to provide coffee and snacks.

The formal inauguration was performed by Felicia Lundmark, chairperson of the municipal council, officially opening the park with its 5 Visionary Solutions in operation!
