VARCITIES consortium met on 3-4 March 2021 for the first Progress Meeting of the project.

The meeting consisted of 2-day full programme with presentations, project updates and discussions. Particularly interesting was the morning session of March 3, with inspiring presentations by the Project Officer Ugo Guarnacci and VARCITIES’ sister projects IN-Habit, GoGreenRoutes and EUPolis.

TSI and project coordinator Denia Kolokotsa supervised the meeting and the presentations from each work package.

Despite some difficulties, mainly related to the Covid-19 uncertainties, we are working hard and we are on track with the timeline of the project. So far we have already completed and regularly submitted 7 deliverables. Among these, the most relevant are:

• Guidelines on baseline creation and data collection (WP3 – Problems identification and design of visionary solutions)
• Healthy Cities Helix (WP8 – Exploitation and business models)
• Project website and social media (WP9 – Dissemination and Communication)
• Branding Identity Guidelines (WP9 – Dissemination and Communication)

In the next six months we will have to complete 6 further deliverables, regarding the knowledge base, clustering activities, stakeholder engagement and the Health & Well-being Platform.

Once again, the meeting took place online but we are confident that we will be able to meet in person soon!
